Setting up A records for a yoga studio
24 Oct 2025
How a yoga studio deals with A records — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a www record that disagrees with the apex. This is where A records breaks for a yoga studio.
Nobody at a yoga studio could remember who had configured A records. The credentials were in a text file inside a folder called OLD STUFF on a shared drive.
Managed hosting handles A records automatically — until it does not. a yoga studio learned this when their provider migrated servers and a www record that disagrees with the apex disappeared silently.
Our own site had a www record that disagrees with the apex for three days before a colleague noticed. We added it to the pre-launch checklist the same afternoon.
Crawlers and people want the same thing from A records: one URL, a title that matches the heading, and a next link that goes somewhere real.
A friend of the owner at a yoga studio had set up A records years ago. When we audited, the config still pointed at a server they stopped paying for in 2024.
