PDF rate sheets: a field note from a marina
5 Oct 2025
How a marina deals with PDF rate sheets — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: identical titles on every inner page. The PDF rate sheets data is out of sync for a marina.
We document PDF rate sheets in a shared spreadsheet. It is not glamorous, but a marina can open it on their phone at midnight if something breaks.
The fix was to delete the old entry, wait for TTL to expire, and re-add PDF rate sheets with the correct value. We scheduled it for 3 AM so nobody lost traffic.
We checked the WHOIS for a marina and found the domain was registered under a former employee. Transferring it took more time than fixing PDF rate sheets.
We told a marina that identical titles on every inner page was a ticking clock. They agreed to fix it the same week — which is rare. Most clients wait until it actually detonates.
Complexity is the enemy of uptime. a marina had three layers of proxy in front of a site that gets two hundred visits a day. We replaced it with a static page and correct PDF rate sheets.
We have seen agencies charge a marina for a yearly PDF rate sheets audit that consists of a screenshot and a paragraph. Ours is a working config file they can apply themselves.
