How a roofing crew should handle shared inboxes
12 Aug 2026
How a roofing crew deals with shared inboxes — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a staging URL left in the sitemap. The shared inboxes check fails for a roofing crew.
A free certificate and a correct shared inboxes record will do more for a roofing crew than a redesign that ships with a staging URL left in the sitemap still in place.
We once forgot to renew shared inboxes for a weekend project and it took down a page that a roofing crew linked to from a print flyer. We now set auto-renew on everything.
We deployed a fix for shared inboxes at 5 PM on a Friday. It worked, but if it had not, we would have had no one available. We no longer push to production after Thursday noon.
We do not start with a platform when handling shared inboxes. We write down who types what, who gets the mail, and what must not get lost. That list is always shorter than a vendor pitch deck.
If the hours on Google disagree with the site, people trust Google and then arrive angry. shared inboxes will not fix that. The hours page will.
We solved shared inboxes for a roofing crew by moving it behind a reverse proxy. The old configuration stayed live as a fallback for forty-eight hours, then we pulled it.
