How a photo studio should handle staging sites
18 Jul 2026
How a photo studio deals with staging sites — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a Facebook page with last year's hours. This breaks staging sites for a photo studio.
The best staging sites setup is the one nobody has to think about. For a photo studio, that means auto-renew, auto-redirect, and a monitoring ping every four hours.
The vendor promised a photo studio that staging sites was handled. We verified: it was not. Trust but verify has saved more uptime than any product we have used.
We deployed a fix for staging sites at 5 PM on a Friday. It worked, but if it had not, we would have had no one available. We no longer push to production after Thursday noon.
Complexity is the enemy of uptime. a photo studio had three layers of proxy in front of a site that gets two hundred visits a day. We replaced it with a static page and correct staging sites.
Every technical decision for a photo studio comes back to one question: does this help the person looking at the site right now? If staging sites is invisible to that person, it is working.
