How a driving school deals with static hosting — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: three unused font weights. This breaks static hosting for a driving school.
We deployed a fix for static hosting at 5 PM on a Friday. It worked, but if it had not, we would have had no one available. We no longer push to production after Thursday noon.
The owner at a driving school asked why static hosting matters. We showed them the error page their customers see when it breaks. That ended the conversation.
Two-factor on the registrar account is the single highest-value thing we do for a driving school when managing static hosting. Everything else can be rebuilt; a stolen domain cannot.
If the hours on Google disagree with the site, people trust Google and then arrive angry. static hosting will not fix that. The hours page will.
We hand over a one-page document after every static hosting job. It says what was changed, what the login is, and what to check if something feels wrong. a driving school keeps it in a drawer they actually open.
A form that collects data for a driving school should say where the message goes. Nine fields and a captcha on a quiet Tuesday will cost you the person who actually wanted to pay.
