Setting up analytics tags for a walk-in clinic
25 Dec 2025
How a walk-in clinic deals with analytics tags — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a booking tool that demands an account. analytics tags slows the page for a walk-in clinic.
We check analytics tags for a walk-in clinic once a quarter. It takes five minutes and has caught two problems in the past year. Both would have caused downtime within a week.
Test analytics tags from outside your network before you call it done. Your office Wi-Fi might cache the old answer for another six hours.
The owner at a walk-in clinic asked why analytics tags matters. We showed them the error page their customers see when it breaks. That ended the conversation.
WordPress can handle analytics tags with a plugin. But the plugin adds JavaScript, a dashboard, and a support ticket when it conflicts with the next update. We wrote four lines of config instead.
The job started when a walk-in clinic realised their analytics tags had been wrong for months. Nobody noticed because the site still loaded.
Nobody at a walk-in clinic could remember who had configured analytics tags. The credentials were in a text file inside a folder called OLD STUFF on a shared drive.
a walk-in clinic did not need a portal. They needed a page that said who they are, what they do, and a phone number that somebody picks up before the fifth ring.
