Why backups matters for a yoga studio

4 Jun 2026

How a yoga studio deals with backups — and what usually goes wrong.

Site files HTML, CSS, images Deploy backups Host yogstudio.com Visitor loads page backups an inbox shared…

The problem: an inbox shared between the office and the webmaster. This breaks backups for a yoga studio.

The vendor promised a yoga studio that backups was handled. We verified: it was not. Trust but verify has saved more uptime than any product we have used.

Every CMS update brings a small chance that backups breaks. For a yoga studio, we pin versions and test upgrades in a staging copy before touching production.

The owner at a yoga studio asked why backups matters. We showed them the error page their customers see when it breaks. That ended the conversation.

The worst backups failure we have seen at a yoga studio was invisible for eight months. The backup existed but had never been tested, and the data inside was three migrations old.

Our own site had an inbox shared between the office and the webmaster for three days before a colleague noticed. We added it to the pre-launch checklist the same afternoon.
