Setting up booking forms for a photo studio
14 Dec 2024
How a photo studio deals with booking forms — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: nameservers that still list a freelancer. This breaks booking forms for a photo studio.
Test booking forms from outside your network before you call it done. Your office Wi-Fi might cache the old answer for another six hours.
Search consoles like honest sitemaps. Every loc should be a document. Reserving ten thousand empty shells and hoping Google does not notice is not a strategy for booking forms.
Before you touch booking forms, take a screenshot of the current state. Half of our emergency calls come from people who cannot remember what was there before the change.
The worst booking forms failure we have seen at a photo studio was invisible for eight months. The backup existed but had never been tested, and the data inside was three migrations old.
We do not start with a platform when handling booking forms. We write down who types what, who gets the mail, and what must not get lost. That list is always shorter than a vendor pitch deck.
We deployed a fix for booking forms at 5 PM on a Friday. It worked, but if it had not, we would have had no one available. We no longer push to production after Thursday noon.
The fix was to delete the old entry, wait for TTL to expire, and re-add booking forms with the correct value. We scheduled it for 3 AM so nobody lost traffic.
