Why CMS logins matters for an accountant
11 Sep 2026
How an accountant deals with CMS logins — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: an SPF record overwritten during a DNS edit. This breaks CMS logins for an accountant.
For an accountant, we wrote a three-line script that checks CMS logins every morning and emails the owner if anything changes. Total cost: zero.
The fix was to delete the old entry, wait for TTL to expire, and re-add CMS logins with the correct value. We scheduled it for 3 AM so nobody lost traffic.
We hand over a one-page document after every CMS logins job. It says what was changed, what the login is, and what to check if something feels wrong. an accountant keeps it in a drawer they actually open.
We deployed a fix for CMS logins at 5 PM on a Friday. It worked, but if it had not, we would have had no one available. We no longer push to production after Thursday noon.
We once forgot to renew CMS logins for a weekend project and it took down a page that an accountant linked to from a print flyer. We now set auto-renew on everything.
We keep a playbook for CMS logins. Step one is always the same: pull the live record with dig, compare it to what the admin panel shows, and fix the mismatch.
