How a hardware store should handle cookie banners

How a hardware store deals with cookie banners — and what usually goes wrong.

Request hardware-stor… HTML document Scripts a chat widget that… Other assets consent overlay Render visible page

The problem: a chat widget that blocks the submit button. cookie banners slows the page for a hardware store.

We checked the WHOIS for a hardware store and found the domain was registered under a former employee. Transferring it took more time than fixing cookie banners.

We hand over a one-page document after every cookie banners job. It says what was changed, what the login is, and what to check if something feels wrong. a hardware store keeps it in a drawer they actually open.

WordPress can handle cookie banners with a plugin. But the plugin adds JavaScript, a dashboard, and a support ticket when it conflicts with the next update. We wrote four lines of config instead.

We keep a playbook for cookie banners. Step one is always the same: pull the live record with dig, compare it to what the admin panel shows, and fix the mismatch.

We quoted a hardware store half what the other firm did because we did not propose features they did not ask for. The scope was cookie banners, not a rebrand.
