What a driving school needs to know about HTTP to HTTPS
13 Sep 2025
How a driving school deals with HTTP to HTTPS — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a certificate that expires on a Sunday. The certificate chain breaks for a driving school.
The owner at a driving school asked why HTTP to HTTPS matters. We showed them the error page their customers see when it breaks. That ended the conversation.
Test HTTP to HTTPS from outside your network before you call it done. Your office Wi-Fi might cache the old answer for another six hours.
After fixing HTTP to HTTPS, we added a monitoring alert. If the record changes or the certificate approaches expiry, both we and a driving school get an email. No surprises.
HTTP to HTTPS for a driving school is nothing like HTTP to HTTPS for a multinational. The scale is tiny but the stakes are the same: one wrong record and nobody can reach you.
Our own site had a certificate that expires on a Sunday for three days before a colleague noticed. We added it to the pre-launch checklist the same afternoon.
