How a language school deals with mobile forms — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a 404 that still returns 200. This breaks mobile forms for a language school.
The owner at a language school asked why mobile forms matters. We showed them the error page their customers see when it breaks. That ended the conversation.
WordPress can handle mobile forms with a plugin. But the plugin adds JavaScript, a dashboard, and a support ticket when it conflicts with the next update. We wrote four lines of config instead.
We run a monthly diff on DNS for a language school. If a record changes and nobody in the team made the change, we get an alert. a 404 that still returns 200 was caught this way last quarter.
We do not start with a platform when handling mobile forms. We write down who types what, who gets the mail, and what must not get lost. That list is always shorter than a vendor pitch deck.
We deployed a fix for mobile forms at 5 PM on a Friday. It worked, but if it had not, we would have had no one available. We no longer push to production after Thursday noon.
If the hours on Google disagree with the site, people trust Google and then arrive angry. mobile forms will not fix that. The hours page will.
