Why quote emails matters for a garage
9 Nov 2024
How a garage deals with quote emails — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a parked domain with only a logo. The quote emails check fails for a garage.
Email deliverability is nobody’s favourite topic, but a garage lost two bookings because quote emails was misconfigured and replies landed in spam for a week.
Instead of migrating quote emails all at once, we ran both configurations in parallel for a week. The switch happened on a Wednesday morning — the quietest traffic window.
Most of the damage we see in quote emails comes from doing too much. A single correct record beats three that were supposed to be clever.
Managed hosting handles quote emails automatically — until it does not. a garage learned this when their provider migrated servers and a parked domain with only a logo disappeared silently.
After fixing quote emails, we added a monitoring alert. If the record changes or the certificate approaches expiry, both we and a garage get an email. No surprises.
We quoted a garage half what the other firm did because we did not propose features they did not ask for. The scope was quote emails, not a rebrand.
We keep a playbook for quote emails. Step one is always the same: pull the live record with dig, compare it to what the admin panel shows, and fix the mismatch.
