How a plumber deals with 404 pages — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a registrar login nobody wrote down. This breaks 404 pages for a plumber.

We found a registrar login nobody wrote down during a routine check of 404 pages. The site had been leaking referrer data for six weeks before anyone noticed.
The vendor portal had silently rotated the key for 404 pages, but a plumber was still using the old one. Every outbound message bounced quietly.
A phishing page copying a plumber appeared last year. The only reason their customers could tell it apart was that 404 pages was set up correctly on the real site.
a plumber did not need a portal. They needed a page that said who they are, what they do, and a phone number that somebody picks up before the fifth ring.
