How a marina deals with A records — and what usually goes wrong.

The problem: a www record that disagrees with the apex. This is where A records breaks for a marina.

We quoted a marina half what the other firm did because we did not propose features they did not ask for. The scope was A records, not a rebrand.

After fixing A records, we added a monitoring alert. If the record changes or the certificate approaches expiry, both we and a marina get an email. No surprises.

Related work on this site follows the same principle: one job, a real inbox, no theatre. a marina did not need four analytics dashboards to know that Tuesdays are slow.

The owner at a marina asked why A records matters. We showed them the error page their customers see when it breaks. That ended the conversation.

We got a call from a marina on a Friday. Their A records had expired overnight, and the booking page was returning errors to every visitor.

The vendor promised a marina that A records was handled. We verified: it was not. Trust but verify has saved more uptime than any product we have used.

We have seen agencies charge a marina for a yearly A records audit that consists of a screenshot and a paragraph. Ours is a working config file they can apply themselves.
