CSV exports for a walk-in clinic
14 Aug 2024
How a walk-in clinic deals with CSV exports — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a www record that disagrees with the apex. The CSV exports data is out of sync for a walk-in clinic.
WordPress can handle CSV exports with a plugin. But the plugin adds JavaScript, a dashboard, and a support ticket when it conflicts with the next update. We wrote four lines of config instead.
When we reviewed CSV exports, the DNS panel showed a www record that disagrees with the apex. Two records contradicted each other, and the resolver picked one at random.
The chain of trust for CSV exports starts at the registrar. If the registrar account uses an email nobody reads, every downstream fix is temporary.
A free certificate and a correct CSV exports record will do more for a walk-in clinic than a redesign that ships with a www record that disagrees with the apex still in place.
If the hours on Google disagree with the site, people trust Google and then arrive angry. CSV exports will not fix that. The hours page will.
