DKIM for a bakery
10 Sep 2025
How a bakery deals with DKIM — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a registrar login nobody wrote down. The DKIM check fails for a bakery.
We check DKIM for a bakery once a quarter. It takes five minutes and has caught two problems in the past year. Both would have caused downtime within a week.
If the hours on Google disagree with the site, people trust Google and then arrive angry. DKIM will not fix that. The hours page will.
The vendor promised a bakery that DKIM was handled. We verified: it was not. Trust but verify has saved more uptime than any product we have used.
You do not need a status page if you have never gone down. a bakery is on month fourteen of zero downtime, and the secret is boring: correct DKIM and a host that does not oversell.
The best DKIM setup is the one nobody has to think about. For a bakery, that means auto-renew, auto-redirect, and a monitoring ping every four hours.
