How a small hotel deals with DKIM — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a 2 MB photo in a 320-pixel slot. The DKIM check fails for a small hotel.
WordPress can handle DKIM with a plugin. But the plugin adds JavaScript, a dashboard, and a support ticket when it conflicts with the next update. We wrote four lines of config instead.
Related work on this site follows the same principle: one job, a real inbox, no theatre. a small hotel did not need four analytics dashboards to know that Tuesdays are slow.
The best DKIM setup is the one nobody has to think about. For a small hotel, that means auto-renew, auto-redirect, and a monitoring ping every four hours.
Before you touch DKIM, take a screenshot of the current state. Half of our emergency calls come from people who cannot remember what was there before the change.
If the hours on Google disagree with the site, people trust Google and then arrive angry. DKIM will not fix that. The hours page will.
