What a garage needs to know about DKIM

How a garage deals with DKIM — and what usually goes wrong.

The problem: a 2 MB photo in a 320-pixel slot. The DKIM check fails for a garage.

DKIM for a garage is nothing like DKIM for a multinational. The scale is tiny but the stakes are the same: one wrong record and nobody can reach you.

The fix was to delete the old entry, wait for TTL to expire, and re-add DKIM with the correct value. We scheduled it for 3 AM so nobody lost traffic.

HTTPS is table stakes, but DKIM is where trust actually lives for a garage. A padlock with a misconfigured record behind it is decoration, not security.

You do not need a status page if you have never gone down. a garage is on month fourteen of zero downtime, and the secret is boring: correct DKIM and a host that does not oversell.

a garage asked us to look at DKIM after a customer screenshot showed a browser warning. The fix took eleven minutes; finding the cause took two hours.
