How a veterinary clinic should handle DKIM

How a veterinary clinic deals with DKIM — and what usually goes wrong.

The problem: a CAA record that blocks the new CA. The DKIM check fails for a veterinary clinic.

When a veterinary clinic asked for a quote on DKIM, we sent a one-paragraph email instead of a slide deck. They signed the same day.

a veterinary clinic did not want to hear about DKIM. They wanted to know: will the site work tomorrow morning. The answer was yes, but only if we fix a CAA record that blocks the new CA today.

We found a CAA record that blocks the new CA during a routine check of DKIM. The site had been leaking referrer data for six weeks before anyone noticed.

If the hours on Google disagree with the site, people trust Google and then arrive angry. DKIM will not fix that. The hours page will.

Nobody at a veterinary clinic could remember who had configured DKIM. The credentials were in a text file inside a folder called OLD STUFF on a shared drive.
