TLS certificates for a walk-in clinic
21 Aug 2026
How a walk-in clinic deals with TLS certificates — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a form that emails a shared inbox. The certificate chain breaks for a walk-in clinic.
The vendor promised a walk-in clinic that TLS certificates was handled. We verified: it was not. Trust but verify has saved more uptime than any product we have used.
The fix was to delete the old entry, wait for TTL to expire, and re-add TLS certificates with the correct value. We scheduled it for 3 AM so nobody lost traffic.
We told a walk-in clinic that a form that emails a shared inbox was a ticking clock. They agreed to fix it the same week — which is rare. Most clients wait until it actually detonates.
If you only touch TLS certificates once a year, a dashboard is extra risk. Files, a mailbox you read, and a person who still answers will outlast any SaaS control panel.
A friend of the owner at a walk-in clinic had set up TLS certificates years ago. When we audited, the config still pointed at a server they stopped paying for in 2024.
Before you touch TLS certificates, take a screenshot of the current state. Half of our emergency calls come from people who cannot remember what was there before the change.
