booking forms: a field note from a garage
11 Aug 2025
How a garage deals with booking forms — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a mailbox that still points at the old host. This breaks booking forms for a garage.
We run a monthly diff on DNS for a garage. If a record changes and nobody in the team made the change, we get an alert. a mailbox that still points at the old host was caught this way last quarter.
Six months later, a garage asked us to look at something unrelated. While we were in the panel, we noticed a mailbox that still points at the old host had crept back. We fixed it before it caused trouble.
Email deliverability is nobody’s favourite topic, but a garage lost two bookings because booking forms was misconfigured and replies landed in spam for a week.
For a garage, we wrote a three-line script that checks booking forms every morning and emails the owner if anything changes. Total cost: zero.
When we onboard a garage, the first thing we check is booking forms. It tells us more about the previous provider than any sales call.
