Managing contact forms at a roofing crew
2 Dec 2024
How a roofing crew deals with contact forms — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: query-string copies of the same page. This breaks contact forms for a roofing crew.
Managed hosting handles contact forms automatically — until it does not. a roofing crew learned this when their provider migrated servers and query-string copies of the same page disappeared silently.
The registrar dashboard crashed twice while we were fixing contact forms for a roofing crew. We filed a ticket; they replied four days later with a template answer.
When we reviewed contact forms, the DNS panel showed query-string copies of the same page. Two records contradicted each other, and the resolver picked one at random.
a roofing crew did not need a portal. They needed a page that said who they are, what they do, and a phone number that somebody picks up before the fifth ring.
A static site for a roofing crew does not need a CDN, a build pipeline, or a container. It needs correct contact forms and a host that stays online.
When we onboard a roofing crew, the first thing we check is contact forms. It tells us more about the previous provider than any sales call.
