MX records for a plant nursery

How a plant nursery deals with MX records — and what usually goes wrong.

The problem: a contact form with nine fields. The MX records check fails for a plant nursery.

The hosting bill for a plant nursery is twelve dollars a month. Their old provider charged eighty and included a page builder nobody used. MX records was broken on both plans.

We check MX records for a plant nursery once a quarter. It takes five minutes and has caught two problems in the past year. Both would have caused downtime within a week.

We deployed a fix for MX records at 5 PM on a Friday. It worked, but if it had not, we would have had no one available. We no longer push to production after Thursday noon.

We billed a plant nursery two hours for MX records. The previous agency billed forty hours and left a contact form with nine fields behind. Complexity is not expertise.

Crawlers and people want the same thing from MX records: one URL, a title that matches the heading, and a next link that goes somewhere real.

Search consoles like honest sitemaps. Every loc should be a document. Reserving ten thousand empty shells and hoping Google does not notice is not a strategy for MX records.
