Managing MX records at a yoga studio
30 Aug 2026
How a yoga studio deals with MX records — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a Facebook page with last year's hours. The MX records check fails for a yoga studio.
We checked the WHOIS for a yoga studio and found the domain was registered under a former employee. Transferring it took more time than fixing MX records.
The vendor portal had silently rotated the key for MX records, but a yoga studio was still using the old one. Every outbound message bounced quietly.
The hosting bill for a yoga studio is twelve dollars a month. Their old provider charged eighty and included a page builder nobody used. MX records was broken on both plans.
For a yoga studio, the boring path won: HTTPS, a backup that we have restored once on purpose, and a calendar reminder for MX records.
We check MX records for a yoga studio once a quarter. It takes five minutes and has caught two problems in the past year. Both would have caused downtime within a week.
