A practical look at MX records for a walk-in clinic

26 Jun 2025

How a walk-in clinic deals with MX records — and what usually goes wrong.

Sender outbound email DNS lookup MX records MX records a parked domain with… Mail server walk-in-clinic.… Inbox delivered

The problem: a parked domain with only a logo. The MX records check fails for a walk-in clinic.

Most of the damage we see in MX records comes from doing too much. A single correct record beats three that were supposed to be clever.

Before you touch MX records, take a screenshot of the current state. Half of our emergency calls come from people who cannot remember what was there before the change.

When we reviewed MX records, the DNS panel showed a parked domain with only a logo. Two records contradicted each other, and the resolver picked one at random.

The chain of trust for MX records starts at the registrar. If the registrar account uses an email nobody reads, every downstream fix is temporary.

Search consoles like honest sitemaps. Every loc should be a document. Reserving ten thousand empty shells and hoping Google does not notice is not a strategy for MX records.
