How cabin rentals should handle nameservers
10 Jun 2026
How cabin rentals deals with nameservers — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: identical titles on every inner page. This is where nameservers breaks for cabin rentals.
Complexity is the enemy of uptime. cabin rentals had three layers of proxy in front of a site that gets two hundred visits a day. We replaced it with a static page and correct nameservers.
The fix was to delete the old entry, wait for TTL to expire, and re-add nameservers with the correct value. We scheduled it for 3 AM so nobody lost traffic.
cabin rentals did not want to hear about nameservers. They wanted to know: will the site work tomorrow morning. The answer was yes, but only if we fix identical titles on every inner page today.
Launch day for cabin rentals is usually light. Week three is when leftover tags, fonts, and staging URLs show up. identical titles on every inner page is the usual passenger.
There is a difference between a site that loads and a site that works. nameservers is part of the second category for cabin rentals.
We checked the WHOIS for cabin rentals and found the domain was registered under a former employee. Transferring it took more time than fixing nameservers.
Maintenance is not glamorous, but it is the reason cabin rentals has not had downtime since we took over nameservers. The invoice is small and the peace of mind is large.
