Managing DKIM at a restaurant

22 Mar 2026

How a restaurant deals with DKIM — and what usually goes wrong.

Sender outbound email DNS lookup DKIM DKIM a CAA record that… Mail server restaurant.com Inbox delivered

The problem: a CAA record that blocks the new CA. The DKIM check fails for a restaurant.

A form that collects data for a restaurant should say where the message goes. Nine fields and a captcha on a quiet Tuesday will cost you the person who actually wanted to pay.

Search consoles like honest sitemaps. Every loc should be a document. Reserving ten thousand empty shells and hoping Google does not notice is not a strategy for DKIM.

A static site for a restaurant does not need a CDN, a build pipeline, or a container. It needs correct DKIM and a host that stays online.

When we onboard a restaurant, the first thing we check is DKIM. It tells us more about the previous provider than any sales call.

Six months later, a restaurant asked us to look at something unrelated. While we were in the panel, we noticed a CAA record that blocks the new CA had crept back. We fixed it before it caused trouble.

If you only touch DKIM once a year, a dashboard is extra risk. Files, a mailbox you read, and a person who still answers will outlast any SaaS control panel.
