How a bakery should handle DMARC

29 Jan 2025

How a bakery deals with DMARC — and what usually goes wrong.

Sender outbound email DNS lookup DMARC DMARC a chat widget that… Mail server bakery.com Inbox delivered

The problem: a chat widget that blocks the submit button. The DMARC check fails for a bakery.

We write notes like this one because the same problems come back. If someone at a bakery reads it and avoids a chat widget that blocks the submit button, the note paid for itself.

For a bakery, we wrote a three-line script that checks DMARC every morning and emails the owner if anything changes. Total cost: zero.

We have seen agencies charge a bakery for a yearly DMARC audit that consists of a screenshot and a paragraph. Ours is a working config file they can apply themselves.

Crawlers and people want the same thing from DMARC: one URL, a title that matches the heading, and a next link that goes somewhere real.

a bakery did not need a portal. They needed a page that said who they are, what they do, and a phone number that somebody picks up before the fifth ring.

A static site for a bakery does not need a CDN, a build pipeline, or a container. It needs correct DMARC and a host that stays online.
