What a restaurant needs to know about DMARC
11 Nov 2025
How a restaurant deals with DMARC — and what usually goes wrong.
The problem: a tag manager container with leftover pixels. The DMARC check fails for a restaurant.
We write notes like this one because the same problems come back. If someone at a restaurant reads it and avoids a tag manager container with leftover pixels, the note paid for itself.
Most providers let you export DMARC as a zone file. We keep one in version control for every client. If the hosting vanishes, the zone file rebuilds the domain in minutes.
Automate DMARC if you can. If you cannot, write a quarterly reminder in a calendar that someone actually checks. a tag manager container with leftover pixels is what happens when nobody does either.
After the move, a tag manager container with leftover pixels broke search indexing for a restaurant. Google kept serving the old pages for another nineteen days.
Managed hosting handles DMARC automatically — until it does not. a restaurant learned this when their provider migrated servers and a tag manager container with leftover pixels disappeared silently.
